Keeping Children Warm From the Inside Out with Project Linus
Every organization has an origin story.
Ours began by creating blankets for foster babies in the Central Texas area. It was a small act of kindness, but it made a difference.
Soon, it grew into a passion. Now, Sew Loved Shop is growing and selling blankets to families like yours.
Despite our growth, our foundation is the act of love it takes to form fabric into a well-loved blanket, and getting those into the little hands that need them most.
We now work with Project Linus—a charity with chapters across the United States—to continually provide blankets to children who need them.
Through Project Linus, “Blankets are collected locally and distributed to children in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies, or anywhere that a child might be in need of a big hug.”
We’re all about hugs, too. The hug of a kind gesture, a gracious thought, and a warm, plush blanket.
Whenever you purchase from the Sew Loved Shop, we donate 5% of your purchase to Project Linus through Shop for Good.
We also gift extra materials and blankets with minor flaws (blankets that don’t quite meet our quality assurance). These imperfections can occur with lovingly handmade, personalized blankets, like a cluster of extra stitches or a Sherpa plush mistakenly paired with the wrong print.
But, like the blankets themselves, we’ve embraced those flaws. They provide a window of opportunity. A less-than-perfect blanket will find its more-than-perfect purpose, all based on your donations.
With just a handful more dollars, you can give kiddos the warmth of a blanket and your heart tonight.
So, why wait? Together, the small hug that began in Central Texas can turn into a giant group hug across America.
